The Flats Cat’s twin-hull catamaran design is groundbreaking, thanks to its reverse-engineered water flow and lift capabilities, setting it apart from any other boat on the market. This innovative approach led Bill Allison and Flats Cat to secure their first patent. The design emerged through extensive research and collaboration, including support from Texas A&M, combined with the determination and ingenuity of founder Bill Allison over years of dedication and innovation.
The journey began in 1991 with the creation of the 21′ Flats Cat, followed by the 18.6 model in 1995. Initially constructed from aluminum, Flats Cat boats transitioned to all-fiberglass builds. In 2001, the 17′ Flats Cat was introduced, and the 19′ Flats Cat followed in 2002.
Today, Flats Cat continues to produce three fiberglass models: the 17′, 19′, and 21′ Flats Cat. Please contact our office for more information!
